As our reputation with divers in South East Asia grew, the resort was expanded to accommodate more occupancy. The Craic House, Evolution’s pub/restaurant was no exception and we decided to hire a food and beverage manager, as The Craic House was renovated to almost double in size not long before Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda came to literally tear the whole operation down.
With a crippled kitchen, lack of restaurant space and a Food and Beverage manager on the way, things seemed dire indeed. What on earth would he manage?
A temporary tent was erected and tables put out to serve the supportive guests that still came after the typhoon, and The Craic House was open, ready for business.

Enter Anton Arnaldo, Filipino Canadian, and a food and beverage industry expert with 15 years experience, who arrived with a tent as he expecting to sleep outside. Anton had no idea what conditions were like on the island, let alone if he had a restaurant to actually manage, yet he still came. After volunteering his time with some rebuilding efforts on the island, Anton started full time with The Craic House, organizing the new restaurant operations. It was soon noted his skills were not only suited to food and beverage.
One of the first things Anton did was restring and service the house guitar, and start plucking away. Anton’s special knack for customer service is second to none, and he has been making people smile, laugh, and in one instance, even cry tears of joy. He will amuse you with his anecdotes, magic tricks and guitar skills.
In addition to all these traits he has actually spent some time doing what he was hired for. Anton has been busy with Matt and David making noticeable changes that suit The Craic House identity of home made items, fresh ingredients and most importantly, the Irish Pub feel.
