Every December, Evolution hosts a Christmas party for the local children and this event is now in its ninth year running. A few of the Evolution staff and guests head over our local basketball course to spend a few hours with the local kids playing games, having relay races, and serving up a classic Malapascua Christmas meal. We had a few rain clouds this year, but that didn’t stop the kids from dancing their hearts out between downpours for prizes of books and coloring pencils.
Our current Divemaster Trainee, Brad, especially loved getting involved with the dancing competition!And the kids were delighted with the hundreds of giveaways donated by Evolution including 200 rain jackets for kids!
And of course for the main event, what Malapascua celebration would be complete without the coveted hotdog and marshmallow sticks? This local gourmet dissappears faster than you can say “they eat hot dogs AND marshmallows . . together?” Yes and yes.
If you’d like to participate, we always accept donations of books for both the Christmas party and regular Kids Book Club events. We are happy to let you know what’s on during your visit with us if you’d like to give back to the community during your surface intervals!
