This week at Evolution and the Craic House we said goodbye to three of our most awesome crew. Anyone who has visited here is likely to have shared some diving, laughs, stories and a beer or two with Anton, Angel or Carlo!
Anton Arnaldo aka Manton, full time F & B manager, part time guitarist, magician, whiskey connoisseur, tech diver, comedian, certified PADI Divemaster and all round good guy! Since his first season here immediately after Typhoon Yolanda he has spread his infectious good humour and enthusiasm through colleagues and guests alike, never short of a quick joke or a round of the Craic House signature Chili Bomb shot! A fitting end to Anton’s season here was his snorkel test, the traditional end to his Divemaster training! We’re going to miss this amigo, and hope that he will return!
Angel Arellanos aka The Mexican – a truly talented recreational instructor who has now expanded his teaching capabilities to include the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses, Angel is a true character, passionate about his job, his wife, his dog and life in general, and quite partial to a couple of frosty caipirinhas and a swapping of tales at the end of a long days diving!
Angel is headed to the Dominican Republic to further expand his diving horizons, and we wish this true amigo all the best, and keeping fingers crossed for a tropical reunion in the not too distant future!
Carlo Holganza aka Carlito – the charismatic hippy dive guide, performance artist and possessor of a fantastic karaoke falsetto, Carlo, although only here for a few short months truly connected with everyone who passed through Evolution. His passion for the marine life of Malapascua ignited the same in our divers, and it was a common sight to see Carlo examining guests photos and helping them with IDing some of our more unusual critters. On special occasions Craic House and Evolution guests were also treated to Carlos unique performance art – making their visit here even more memorable. Carlo is back home to Manila to formulate his future diving plans, and we hope to see the return of amigo number 3 to the shores of sunny Malapascua sooner rather then later!
