Most divers are happy, once they have the PADI Advanced Open Water certification under their belt, to steer away from further training, merrily tour the reefs of their chosen destination, barely aware of the other divers in the vicinity, marvelling at a nudibranch here, an octopus there…..
Some divers however, are determined to equip themselves with the invaluable skills needed to prevent, manage and solve the myriad of problems that can occur before, during and after a dive – that’s right folks, I’m talking about Evolution’s fun, challenging and generally awesome PADI Rescue Diver course!! Talk to anyone (including divemasters and instructors) about the most challenging and satisfying certification they have attained and more often than not they will begin to spout forth war stories from the Rescue Diver course!
Composed of ten different ‘skill sets’ and two penultimate final rescue scenarios, , the Rescue Diver course covers a plethora of problem solving – launching a rope from the boat to save a panicking swimmer, to finding a missing diver underwater, bringing them to the surface, performing in water rescue breathing and getting them to the emergence oxygen on the boat – phew!!! – and it doesn’t stop there! What day would be complete without impromptu out of air emergencies, panicked divers at the surface and clumsy people falling off the boat on the way to the dive site?!?!?!?
If you want to gain the awareness to spot a problem, the confidence to act in an emergency, and back it up with the skills to get the job done, contact Evolution today to book a spot and become a PADI Rescue Diver!
