Evolution is founded on technical diving, and divers travel from around the world to challenge themselves, diving deeper with our experienced tech team. Whether our divers are here to penetrate the Mogami Maru at 50m, train on Closed Circuit Rebreathers or dive with trimix they all have one thing in common: everyone once started in the same place. For the majority of the world’s divers that starting point was the PADI Open Water Course and we welcome brand new divers to Evolution with the same enthusiasm we greet our growing band of returning tech guests.
In many places your first breaths underwater are taken in a swimming pool. It is essential that your first time is in a shallow, safe environment to learn how to use the equipment and master basic skills before progressing. We are fortunate that our beautiful island home is fringed with shallow bays that offer the perfect training grounds for new and experienced divers alike. This means you can come face to face with ‘Nemo’ on your very first time underwater!
As the foundation of your new diving experiences it is imperative that you receive the best training possible. Evolution’s experienced team of instructors are here to share their knowledge with you during comprehensive theory lessons, dive briefings and often over a hard-earned beer at the famous Craic House bar after a day below the waves. We guarantee you’ll leave with more than just the basic knowledge to get yourself underwater, as staff passions are often incorporated into the teaching.
As a newly minted Open Water Diver you’ll leave Malapascua with log book entries to make even experienced divers jealous. Our great macro life means some of our lucky students leave having already ticked off seahorses, frogfish, ghost pipefish, rare nudibranchs and white tip reef sharks from their ‘to see’ list. Unsurprisingly, most students continue straight into their Advanced Open Water course to dive to 30m on Malapascua’s speciality sunrise dive with the incredible thresher sharks.
The Open Water course is your key to a vast array of diving opportunities. You could go on to a professional diving career yourself or enter the world of technical diving, or just enjoy exploring the planet’s thousands of awesome diving opportunities. There are caves, wrecks and reefs worldwide to explore plus specialist diving in unusual places such as lakes, quarries and under ice shelves.
70% of the world’s surface is covered in water, when are you going to start exploring it?
