The More the Merrier at The Craic House

It was supposed to start out like any other day: The alarm goes off at 6:30am, I would then proceed to hit the snooze button every 7 minutes until I finally roll out of bed and get ready for work.

This morning however, someone had told local fishermen where I live. I awoke to a loud knock at 5:30am and a voice that rang “Fresh squid, prawns and Tuna Sir!” Now you can imagine my concern with local fisherman now knowing where I live, however I was in fact in need of fresh tuna, prawns and squid. So I reluctantly got up and told him to meet me at work in an hour for the exchange.

See at the Craic House we offer large groups family style dinners where YOU ask what you want and in this instance the group wanted all those items plus other Filipino staples like Grilled Pork Belly, Sinigang, Calderetta and the infamous Adobo. Off menu ordering is something that isn’t done at many restaurants, but we all know about cravings while travelling and we strive to get the people what they want.

So if you’re on Malapascua and your group have a craving for something that you may not find on a limited cuisine island like ours, take a jig down Bounty Beach to the Craic House and buy me a whiskey, because I may just cook you what you want. These guys did:
