Here at Evolution, we do frequent underwater clean up dives and often our staff volunteer to take part. Our goal is to do at least one every month. The two main sites that we visited recently are Los Bamboos and Light house, both just next to each other. These are dive sites we use for training new divers and as well where we go to spot our beloved mandarin fish. These two sites are very exposed to new rubbish being brought in from the mainland when its windy and all the trash will gather here in the shallow dive sites from time to time.

keep the oceans cleanWe have decided to return to the same sites in hope of seeing a change in the amount of trash we see and to make sure they can remain more or less clean from new trash. We do know that when its stormy or we have had a big holiday on the island like Xmas more bad stuff is likely to end up at a dive site. Therefore we always try and place our clean up after these events.

We had a good start to the year and were happy to see that the sites were cleaner then we thought but we still were able to collect a few bags and they are not off to the mainland for proper disposal.

Lets keep our oceans tidy!
